Sierra Tradesman is expanding to include a small-batch plant nursery focused on species suited to the Central Sierra climate and ecology. We’re selecting plants that work hard, support local ecosystems, and contribute to resilient, productive landscapes.

What We’re Growing
Native Plants California natives adapted to local conditions — drought-tolerant, wildlife-supporting, and built for the foothill environment. Includes oaks, conifers, shrubs, and understory species.
Grafted Fruit Trees Apples, pears, plums, apricots, figs, and cherries — carefully selected varieties for the Sierra climate zone. Grafted for disease resistance, flavor, and reliable production.
Perennial Grasses & Groundcovers Functional grasses for grazing, erosion control, soil health, and habitat. Ornamental options available for landscaping applications.
Berries Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and gooseberries — varieties chosen for local adaptation and sustained yield.
Ornamental Landscaping Plants Drought-tolerant shrubs, flowering perennials, and structural plants suited to rural and residential design projects.
Our Approach
Every plant is grown with intention. We prioritize:
- Site-appropriate selection — Species matched to foothill soils, temperature ranges, and water availability
- Diversity over monoculture — A range of options that support ecological function
- Quality at the root — Healthy, well-established plants ready to establish quickly in the ground
- Local resilience — Varieties that thrive without excessive inputs
